Paideia is a word meaning “instruction for living.” The purpose of this ministry is to encourage followers of Jesus to read the Bible the way that God gave it to us, in “Books.” Too often we are exposed to preaching and teaching in verses or paragraphs. We never take the time to read even a small letter in the New Testament like Philippians at one sitting. We believe that reading the New Testament as whole books has great benefits in both understanding and spiritual formation. Our by-line states that we seek to offer “Spiritual Formation Through Bible Reading.” Reading the Bible in whole parts leads to understanding, then curiosity, questions, study, and back again to reading. As we read more, we begin to again understand the “Author behind the authors” of the Bible. That relationship with God is the basic reason behind His giving us this “Story” of Himself as gift to His Church. We believe that the Bible was written not so much for information as transformation.
Our approach is both ecumenical and evangelical. The series of videos on this site are to help you in some basic understandings about the Bible before you even begin to read the Bible. We are specializing in the New Testament, both because of its size and its familiarity. The material will be presented in 40 minute lessons that are delivered in a series of 10 minute talks. Our goal is to release one lesson per month. There will be something for you to do between talks as you begin to perhaps read the Bible in a whole new way.
May God bless our journey together!
